Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, also known as APN’s, are master’s level medical providers trained on the nursing model of care. Similar to Physician’s Assistants, Nurse Practitioners are considered mid-level providers and are trained to assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe — identical to the Pediatrician role in the outpatient setting. A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is an APN specialized entirely in the care of children.

Tess Batchelder is a board certified Nurse Practitioner specialized in Pediatric Primary Care. In 2019 Tess received bachelor degrees in Spanish and Medicine, Health & Society from Vanderbilt University. She then continued on at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she received both a bachelor of Nursing and her master’s degree in Pediatric Primary Care in 2021. After completing her pediatrics clinical rotations in Denver, she fell in love with Colorado and decided to stay!

In her spare time, Tess loves spending time outdoors hiking, trail running, and playing soccer. She also enjoys cooking, playing guitar, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her friends and family. She is so excited to be a part of the Stepping Stones family and can’t wait to meet all her amazing patients!
